Compensation: $115,000 - $150,000 per year

*This range reflects Carestream’s good faith estimate to pay fairly as starting wage. Offers will be tailored within the range based on the selected candidate’s experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process, as well as geographic market differentials for the position.

Position Summary:

The Program Manager will collaborate with global manufacturing and research sites to lead and coordinate development activities, technical programs, and budgets for new products/processes. In addition, this person will work with business development teams to assess new product opportunities.  

The successful Program Manager will have a good understanding of business processes and will be able to strategize and implement high-level program initiatives. As a natural leader, this person is expected to demonstrate talent for project coordination and delegation. The Program Manager will be familiar with project management tools and will be able to clarify the scope of his projects, organize them in a work breakdown structure, estimate budgets, identify roles and responsibilities, and delegate tasks to effectively meet deadlines.

To be successful, the Program Manager can oversee and manage projects of a complex nature, both large and small scale. This individual has the ability to coordinate and communicate to various members of the team across all functions of the organization to accomplish business objectives and meet project timelines. The Program Manager is passionate, demonstrates accountability, and educates his teams as needed to achieve program milestones.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical resource teams throughout specific aspects of the product life cycle: ideation, development, commercialization, continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate appropriate phase/gate or change management process to enable new products/processes or change existing product/processes.  
  • Under the guidance of a senior project manager, focus on timelines, budgets, or milestones for each project, identify risks and mitigations, and communicate to a range of audiences from shop floor to executive suite. Produce program reports for managers and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate resources in support of experiments, root cause analysis, and other development activities.
  • Act as change agent for products and programs and ensure all quality management system requirements are met.
  • Develop and implement improvement programs related to experimental, operational, and commercialization excellence.
     

Required Skills & Education:

  • BA or BS in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar.  
  • Preferred advanced degree in one of the above disciplines.
  • Experience level:  2+ years in project management or similar role with at least 5 years total experience.   
  • Experience in estimating budgets and resource allocation in projects
  • Experience in communicating with stakeholders
  • Product and/or process development preferably in a manufacturing setting
  • Technical writing competency
     

Desired Skills:

  • Medical device knowledge including manufacturing and product development stages of FDA-regulated products
  • Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification
  • Project management certification (PMP or similar)
