Position Summary:
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will have a unique opportunity to work on industry leading medical products alongside world-class Engineers. We are seeking highly motivated students who are actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. You will gain real world experience to solve challenging problems, utilize CAD, evaluate designs, and collaborate with resources across the globe.
Position Responsibilities:
• Partner with a development engineer to complete assigned projects supporting new product development and continuing project engineering.
• Create new parts, assemblies and drawings
• Research competitive technologies
• Participate in trouble-shooting current product issues.
• Conduct hardware testing and/or create test fixtures for development
• Document design and testing results
• Learn and utilize best practices for medical equipment design and quality
• Present accomplishments and learnings from internship at the completion of the Summer.
Required Skills & Education:
• Current Bachelor's degree candidate seeking a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Must have completed a minimum of four semesters prior to starting internship (Sophomore year).
• GPA 3.0 minimum
• Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Basic experience in CAD (SolidWorks, NX, ProE)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired Skills:
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to isolate and repair mechanical design problems and resolve defects when testing new designs
• Excellent proactive work ethic and attention to detail
• Demonstrates excitement working with Mechanical Design
