Position Responsibilities:

Responsibilities can include, but not limited to:

  • Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Management and Supply Chain Management with a focus on sourcing chemicals.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms, negotiate, and write confidentiality agreements, supply agreements, consignment agreements, and other contract documents.
  • Translate client requirements into actionable sourcing plans.
  • Build strong supplier relationships, manage supplier assessment scorecards, implement, and monitor ongoing supplier performance metrics, and drive cost reductions and continuous improvements.
  • Plan, organize, and analyze data to make decisions or to build recommendations on sourcing strategies with implications for vendor selection, through Total Cost of Ownership analysis.
  • Document and manage supplier spend, and supplier cost, delivery and quality targets using established commodity strategies.
  • Manage domestic and international suppliers and supply chains.
  • Negotiate and manage payment terms to the corporate standards, ensure suppliers are paid timely, and intervene to resolve payment delays promptly.
  • Track the development of new technologies and industry trends that will result in the identification of new suppliers, alternative products, and/or best in class services.
  • Analyze and solve complex problems important to the success of the organization.
  • Collect and report savings productivity, achievements, and supply issues.
  • Understand the global logistics markets to better enable the efficient and cost-effective movement of purchased items across the globe.

Required Skills & Education:

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Material Science
  • Interest in learning commercial and business skills and applying a knowledge and background in chemistry
  • Proven track record of delivering or exceeding expectations
  • Extremely strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation and influence)
  • Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Sense of urgency, disciplined execution, and a "get it done right" mindset
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities simultaneously while still meeting deadlines
  • Strategic Analytical Thinking
  • Sensitivity to different worldwide cultures and global country level practices
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA
  • USA Passport required for occasional international travel

Desired Skills:

  • MS degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Material Science
  • Second language skills a plus
