Compensation $26.00 to $32.00 per hour depending on experience.
*This range reflects Carestream’s good faith estimate to pay fairly as starting wage. Offers will be tailored within the range based on the selected candidate’s experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process, as well as geographic market differentials for the position.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an Engineering Technical Services Specialist to support Carestream Health’s Manufacturing Operations team located at 1049 Ridge Road, Rochester, NY 14615. The ideal candidate will be an extremely organized and meticulous individual, someone that can comfortably interpret a variety of engineering drawing types, collaborate with engineering staff on maintenance & commercialization projects, communicate clearly and effectively, and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment. This professional will help to bolster our manufacturing support and join our team in delivering high-quality X-ray imaging products to our customers.
Position Responsibilities:

- Maintain an extensive knowledge of Carestream’s internal best-practices and methodology surrounding engineering changes and change implementations.
- ECN/ECI process, CMR process, OIS audit process, etc.
- Understand & interpret engineering documents, including but not limited to: mechanical drawings, CAD models, electrical schematics, PCB layouts, firmware files, purchase specifications, artwork specifications, etc
- Audit submitted change requests for regulatory compliance & proper structure according to ISO13485 & ISO9001
- Lead continuous improvement efforts for the internal change workflow & tools
- Collaborate with the engineering group to refine and process engineering change notices – volume of ~1500 change activities per year.
- Proactively broadcast status of in-process changes to the greater team and help coordinate the manufacturing change-over
- Input mission-critical information to the relevant material management databases
- Assist with internal investigations regarding inventory & costing inaccuracies
- Perform both routine and off-cycle maintenance of key material parameters inside material databases
- Monitor newly introduced materials for compliance to REACH / RoHS regulations
- Maintain an extensive knowledge of Carestream’s internal best-practices and methodology surrounding engineering changes and change implementations.
Required Skills & Education:
Position Expectations:

- Work typical hours from 7am - 3:30pm Monday through Friday.
- HS Diploma or GED and
- 4+ years of experience interpreting engineering drawings, models, and/or purchase specifications.
- 2+ years of experience working on engineering documentation in change-controlled environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio.

- Comfort managing & navigating complex bills of material (BOMs).
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Ability to develop & refine standard work documents
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with varying priorities and stay well organized.
- High initiative and sense of urgency compatible with a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Skills:

- Experience with SAP – running complex reports, update transactions, etc.
- 2+ years of experience working with material management databases – SAP or similar
- Experience with manufacturing best practices, continuous improvement principles
- Experience with running change control processes in medically regulated manufacturing environments
