Compensation $23.00/hour minimum to $29.00/hour point ($48k-60k annually).

*This range reflects Carestream’s good faith estimate to pay fairly as starting wage. Offers will be tailored within the range based on the selected candidate’s experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process, as well as geographic market differentials for the position.

Position Summary:

This Associate level Mechanic provides manufacturing machine maintenance support to the Rochester Film Finishing production team.  This position plays an important role in ensuring the reliability of production equipment, contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing process.  Using their mechanical knowledge, education, and experience, this person is responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery and equipment used in the production process, ensuring the manufacturing equipment has minimal downtime. 

40 hours per week, Monday – Thursday, 5:50AM to 4:20PM

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on manufacturing machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and superiors regarding maintenance issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
  • Participate in safety training programs and promote a safe working environment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot routine mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
  • Actively participates in reliability meetings.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and protocols.

Required Skills & Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • 2+ years of mechanical education or experience relative to a mechanic being able to work independently.
  • Previous experience with the use of hand and power tools.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-directed with a desire to learn a skilled trade.
  • Must be able to work 40 hours per week, Monday – Thursday, 5:50AM to 4:20PM

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, radio frequency sealing, electrical systems, machine shop equipment including mills, lathes, dress presses, grinders, or diagnostic equipment is helpful.
  • Training or education in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or a related field is helpful.
  • Previous experience as a manufacturing, building or automotive mechanic is helpful.
  • Previous experience working with a variety of manufacturing machinery and equipment is desirable.
  • Safety consciousness and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Computer knowledge helpful (MS Office, SAP, etc.)
