Position Summary:

Carestream Health is growing! We are interviewing to hire a Manufacturing Process Engineer at our Lake Avenue, Rochester, NY facility.

The process engineer will work closely with the manufacturing and technical team to analyze current production procedures and standards. In this process they will identify inefficiencies and work to improve the overall process for reliability and cycle time.

Position Responsibilities:

  • This person will be directly responsible for process improvements, yield enhancements, and day to day sustaining engineering. The individual will support the manufacturing processes.
  • Continuous Improvement mindset in all areas of the business
  • Strong focus to quality and process improvements.
  • Own the manufacturing processes and work instructions.
  • Assist in the start-up, de-bug and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot assembly issues and provide recommendations.
  • Have parts fabricated for fixtures or equipment.
  • Create drawings for machine revisions or parts using Solidworks or Unigraphics.
  • Assist in the programming of equipment to produce products.
  • Train operators or other maintenance mechanics on the machine, process, PM’s, calibrations.
  • Initiate cost reduction projects.
  • Author procedures necessary for the process.
  • Create and implement Change Management Process
  • Use various measuring techniques.
  • Utilizes process verification and analytical tools to analyze and solve process problems.
  • Collaborate and continue to create a team environment with operations, maintenance, engineering and manufacturing.

Required Skills & Education:

•    BS Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent 
•    3+ years of experience manufacturing environment
•    Experience working with industrial machinery
•    Strategic planning skills
•    Project management experience

Desired Skills:

  • Strong PLC background Rockwell (was Allen Bradley), Modicon and Automation Direct PLC software across our different machines
  •  Black Belt fundamentals.  (Six Sigma, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, DOE, SPC, Lean manufacturing principles).
  • Competent in MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, Power Point, MS Project
