Compensation $19.00 to 22.00 per hour depending on experience and skills along with internal equity.

*This range reflects Carestream’s good faith estimate to pay fairly as starting wage. Offers will be tailored within the range based on the selected candidate’s experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process, as well as geographic market differentials for the position.

Position Summary:

 

Location: Carestream Health, 1049 W Ridge Road, Greece, NY 14615

Hours: 8:00AM to 4:30PM

 

The Dock Material Handler plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate and efficient flow of materials within the facility, including packaging materials and preparing them for shipment. This position is responsible for following shipping paperwork to locate and package components, processing shipping order paperwork, and moving inventory in and out of various locations within the building, including the dock, warehouse, parts market, and manufacturing floor. This position is critical for ensuring the correct parts are packaged for shipment while maintaining adequate levels of inventory on the shop floor to ensure continuous production and minimize production downtime.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Travel between multiple locations to package items according to existing paperwork and procedures
  • Print and attach shipping labels and barcodes onto packages
  • Safely use powered industrial trucks (PITs) or other equipment to load, unload, and transport materials
  • Monitor inventory levels and escalate parts shortages
  • Accurately enter paperwork information into SAP to complete material moves and order processing
  • Each day, move finished goods to the shipping doc area (following shipping coordinator paperwork)
  • Follow established procedures for material handling, storage, and documentation to support operational efficiency and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure a clean and organized workspace by performing 5S activities and filing paperwork in a timely manner

Required Skills & Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or related field
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • This position requires forklift license or willingness to train to obtain one (Carestream will provide training if needed)
  • Basic computer skills for entering data and paperwork information
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods (Person must be willing and able to meet the following physical requirements listed below)
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures

Desired Skills:

  • Prior experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations
  • Forklift Certification
  • Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in shipments or inventory counts
