Compensation: $30.38 - 37.98/hr
*This range reflects Carestream’s good faith estimate to pay fairly as starting wage. Offers will be tailored within the range based on the selected candidate’s experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process, as well as geographic market differentials for the position.
Position Summary:
Within the NDT Research and Development team, the Lead Technician performs testing of industrial radiographic images and interfaces with the R&D hardware and software teams to build new and improve existing products. The Lead Technician provides customer and sales support, maintains equipment and test systems, conducts testing, and documents methods and results. The Lead Technician also serves as the main point of contact for manufacturing quality issues.
Position Responsibilities:
• Perform radiography utilizing X-ray and gamma sources in conjunction with computed radiography and digital detector array radiographic systems
• Collaborate with customers and sales managers on technical questions and troubleshooting to resolve problems
• Execute test plans, analyze results, and document processes as required for assigned projects
• Resolve manufacturing issues for current products as they are identified
• Ensure all lab equipment and test systems are operational and calibrated
Required Skills & Education:
- Associate’s degree in a STEM or technical discipline
- Min 5 years of professional experience
- Strong mechanical & electrical aptitude
- Keen observation skills
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the solution of complex issues
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Computer proficiency
- Experience in a technical lab environment
- Experience working with project teams
Desired Skills:
- Level 2 radiographer certification
- Experience with radioactive isotopes and X-ray systems
- Radiation safety training and knowledge
- Experience with computed radiography and digital detector array radiography digital imaging systems
- Experience interacting with customers troubleshooting technical issues
Work Environment:
Traditional Office Environment: This position is primarily an office setting with standard temperature and humidity controls, moderate to light noise, fluorescent lighting, primarily sitting with standing desks available, extensive computer and keyboard use, etc.
