Position Summary:

The main purpose of the position is to support the Rochester Finishing Operation located at 1669 Lake Ave, Rochester, NY.  The CHR Process Engineer improves efficiency and resolves problems of manufacturing / mechanical processes and procedures in a production environment.  Works with cross functional teams and individuals to assure product manufacturability.  Ensures quality standards for process and product are met.

Position Responsibilities:

•             Support day to day manufacturing; Create and propose action plans based on data analysis; Monitors process performance; Troubleshoots production and problems and implements corrective actions; Reduce downtime/waste in areas of responsibility; Maintain equipment

•             Develop requirements and specifications (process, software); Designs equipment or software to meet product and process needs

•             Accommodate and develop new processes for new product requirements; Modernize equipment and increase capability; Leads accreditation of process equipment changes

•             Support management requests and determine best practice when implementing solutions

•             Provide training to operations and maintenance; Works with maintenance to drive high reliability levels; Provide direction to technicians

•             Interface with outside venders; Coordinate work with other groups/individuals; Liaison between organizations

•             Create detailed cost and schedule estimates for tasks; Prioritize tasks to meet product schedule requirements

•             Defines set-points and limits for process variables; Ensure reproducible process performance

Required Skills & Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering

  • 2+ years of experience in engineering role, preferably in Process Engineering

  • Computer aided drafting software capability or experience

  • Ability to understand product /process/material interactions and to explain these interactions to operations;

  • Working knowledge of engineering statistics and strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Project management and good communication skills.

  • 40 Hrs - 6am to 2:30 PM (On Call as Needed)
