Position Summary:


Location: Ideally located at a Carestream facility in Rochester, NY or Oakdale, MN, or Windsor, CO or Medford, OR. Remote in the USA is also a consideration.

The Product Stewardship and Compliance Specialist will provide subject matter expertise with chemical regulatory compliance, chemical management, and industrial product stewardship for products in industrial, medical, and electronic applications.

In this role, you will oversee Carestream's product stewardship program, including working with research & development, production, and engineering departments, providing input on regulatory requirements for chemical and material components of Carestream's products. You will monitor regulatory changes form jurisdictions around the global and provide expert advice regarding such changes. This position also manages Carestream's Safety Data Sheets SDS authoring and inventorying programs. 

No Agencies. No Work Authorization. Must reside in the continental USA currently.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, assess, and document business impacts regarding TSCA, RoHS, EU REACH, WEEE, batteries and packages, and various other regulatory areas 
  • Communicate changing or emerging product stewardship and chemical regulatory laws and regulations
  • Develop and implement technical programs and processes to meet and sustain compliance requirements of all business applications.
  • Establish and continuously improve operational workflows for seamless product/project documentation and approval history
  • Provide expertise and knowledge of existing and emerging global chemical regulations, their applicability and analysis for chemical regulations in different regions.
  • Provide required country specific substance registrations, reporting, notifications and dossier development where products may be distributed and sold to support new product development launch as well as growth of existing products.
  • Perform critical review of chemical, biochemical and general toxicology, safety data and literature and compile reports and notifications to governmental agencies.
  • Deliver chemical regulatory, product stewardship and training to the business, technical teams and customers.
  • Participate in advocacy efforts within significant trade organizations, product panels and product environmental safety groups as necessary to elevate and support the company's position with innovation, development, and compliance efforts.
  • Work with regional departments to coordinate compliance requirements as applicable.
  • Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Travel to other Carestream sites is unlikely.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field – biology, chemistry, engineering, or equivalent experience; Master's degree in environmental or chemical a plus.
  • Minimum of 4+ (four) years of related work experience.
  • Experience with regulatory monitoring/scientific data tools such as chemical watch, 3E Insight for Chemicals, Sci-finder, QSARs and other similar tools.
  • Experience with read-across and getting substance level information on tox/eco-tox, OELs, and other hazard classification data from databases such as ECHA, EPA and other agencies as applicable.
  • Experience with Medical Device regulations.
  • REACH experience in other countries beyond the European Union.
  • Experience leading or supporting cross functional groups and teams.

Carestream, in compliance with Colorado EPT Rules is offering a very competitive salary of $108,000K-$128,000K. This position is eligible for a quarterly bonus, 401K match, and overtime opportunities. Actual pay will vary and may be above the listed payrate based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
