Position Summary:


Carestream is seeking an OnSite Production Manager at its 1049 Ridge Road, Rochester, NY manufacturing facility. 


Who we’re looking for:

Energetic, highly motivated manufacturing manager.  Strong shop floor presence with ability to lead multi-functional team. Lean expertise.

The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and execute lean principles in our equipment manufacturing space to improve quality, efficiency, and throughput.   The person in this role will support day to day production and operational related decisions for current and future state manufacturing.

Position Responsibilities:

•    Implementation and sustaining of Lean principles /Continuous Improvement in first time Perfect Order Fulfillment / and Perfect Out of Box quality, Throughput Yield/ Tact Times, Manpower utilization/ Flex Labor, Tooling capability, Point of Application, Training, Inventory Turns, etc.
•    Create a culture to ensure Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & Growth KPI Achievement
•    Analyzes production processes to improve the manufacturing process
•    Determine organization/staffing for support of flexible manufacturing (volume driven)
•    Create implementation schedules (short, mid, and long-term) with clear deadlines to achieve strategic objectives
•    Develop site level Roadmap that supports company objectives
•    Regular communication to leadership on performance and continues improvement status/gains
•    Communication and coordination with engineering, planning, supply chain, R&D, markets on new product development, changes to existing products, and incorporation of best practices across manufacturing sites.
•    Lead and/or Coordinate equipment or manufacturing cell modifications/installation/commissioning for continuous improvement
•    Provide leadership and guidance to multiple levels of the organization, including both management and hourly paid personnel
•    Collaborate with HR to resolve manufacturing associate employment/performance issues.

Required Skills & Education:

•    Bachelor's Degree in Science - Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
•    Strong Quality, Industrial and/or Manufacturing Engineering background with mechanical aptitude.
•    Ability to lead and interact with others in a collaborative environment is a must.
•    Proven track record of continuous improvement in manufacturing operation (assembly operations preferred)
•    4+ years of experience with Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, 8D, Kaizen events, Six Sigma tools, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow, Process Auditing, Process Capability analysis, ISO, Poke Yoke). Application of Lean and Six Sigma techniques, statistical methods.
•    Strong computer skills including at minimum intermediate level Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP helpful.

Desired Skills:

•    Familiarity with OHSA General Industry; Strong Quality background – working knowledge of ISO, FDA standards; Experience with Lean Manufacturing Tools – 5S, 8D, kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow, Process Auditing, Process Capability Analysis, Poke Yoke design; Application Six Sigma techniques and statistical methods; Mechanical Aptitude highly desired.

Work Environment:

Manufacturing facility and Office.

Physical Requirements:

50% will be on the manufacturing shop floor. Additional details to follow during interview.
