Position Summary:

Individual will be part of a small group involved in the design, formulation, commercialization and evaluation of NDT and Dental products.  The primary goal of the R&D Technician is to perform technical assignments related to hardware and media products and systems in support of the Application Engineer.  Work may encompass one of several areas of technician support including media, chemicals, hardware, testing or other related fields. Duties may include testing and analysis of product samples, creation of those samples for internal programs and manufacturing quality control products.  They are responsible for preparing equipment and test systems, conducting testing, and documenting methods and results.  It is desired that this candidate has mechanical aptitude, strong observation skills and a demonstrated ability to contribute to the solution of complex product/process related issues.

Position Responsibilities:

• Ensure all equipment and test systems are operational and calibrated for testing and training.

• Execute test plans, analyse results document as required for assigned projects.

• Support efforts to resolve manufacturing and finishing issues for current products as they are identified.

• Isolate and repair equipment problems and resolve issues during testing.

• Ability to function in a lab and darkroom environment including use of photo-chemicals

• Ability to work independently and in a team situation.

Required Skills & Education:

Minimum years related experience: 5+

Minimum Education Level: Associates Degree Graduate

Minimum Educational Field: Chemical Technology or equivalent

• Experience with film coatings/processing/digital applications.

• Solid laboratory skills and understand and adhere to safe laboratory practices 

• Self motivated with strong analytical/problem solving skills

Desired Skills:

• Mechanical aptitude

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks

• Computer proficiency

• Experience with Photochemistry, X-ray and equipment (processors)

• Familiarity with radiological concepts

• Applied statistical background

• Structured approach to daily tasks
