Position Summary:

Carestream Health has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Commodity Manager at its HQ in Rochester, NY. If you have at least 10+ years in procurement or commodity management including 3+ years in a senior role, please apply below.

Position Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Management, Supply Chain Management, Procurement Market Analysis, Commercial Terms & Conditions, and OEM Manufacturing.
  • Negotiate pricing & terms, negotiate & write confidentiality agreements, supply agreements, consignment agreements, and other contract documents for various commodity categories.
  • Translate client requirements into actionable sourcing plans.
  • Define, establish, and lead the strategic sourcing process (including all phases of marketplace or benchmark analysis, understanding index & feedstock pricing, E-Auction, bundling, supplier identification, qualification, & selection, and product accreditation & approval for use).
  • Build strong supplier relationships, manage supplier assessment scorecards, implement & monitor ongoing supplier performance metrics, and drive cost reductions & continuous improvements.
  • Plan, organize, and analyze data to make decisions or to build recommendations on sourcing strategies with implications for vendor selection, through Total Cost of Ownership analysis.
  • Document and manage supplier spend, and supplier cost, delivery & quality targets using established commodity strategies.
  • Manage domestic & international suppliers and supply chains.
  • Negotiate and manage payment terms to the corporate standards, ensure suppliers are paid timely, and intervene to resolve payment delays promptly.
  • Track the development of new technologies and industry trends that will result in the identification of new suppliers, alternative products, and/or best in class services.
  • Collect and report savings productivity, achievements & supply issues.
  • Analyze and solve complex problems important to the success of the organization.
  • Understand the global logistics markets to better enable the efficient & cost-effective movement of purchased items across the globe.
  • Lead & support internal Worldwide Purchasing improvement programs.

Required Skills & Education:

  • B.S. in Engineering, Supply Chain Mgmt., or Business
  • Minimum 10 years procurement or commodity management experience, 3 years in a senior role
  • Chemical aptitude is important
  • Proven track record of delivering or exceeding expectations
  • USA Passport required for occasional international travel (contingent on corporate Covid protocol)
  • Strong leadership, people management & employee development skills
  • Extremely strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation & influence), ability to present specific content comprehensively to respective target groups like senior and executive management.
  • Project Management experience
  • Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook)
  • Advanced leadership & team building skills
  • Sense of urgency, disciplined execution, and a "get it done right" mindset
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities simultaneously while still meeting deadlines
  • Willingness to share knowledge and to learn from others
  • Strategic Analytical Thinking
  • Sensitivity to different worldwide cultures and global country level practices

Desired Skills:

  • Master’s degree preferred (technical or business)
  • SAP or similar ERP experience preferred
  • Six Sigma / LEAN certification (green or black belt preferred)
  • Professional certifications a plus (CPM, CPSM, CCMP, CPIM, etc.)
  • Second language skills a plus
