Position Summary:

 

Senior Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist located at Carestream Rochester, NY; Windsor, CO or White City, OR preferred, remote option for well-qualified candidates).

The Senior Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist provides support and subject matter expertise to manufacturing, logistics, and research & development facilities regarding EHS compliance obligations and works closely with these facilities to ensure that they are meeting regulatory requirements. The Senior EHS Specialist develops, implements, and maintains processes and programs to minimize deficiencies and ensure compliance with existing global, federal, state, and local laws, regulations, licenses, permits, corporate policies, global standards, and procedures

As a lead change agent, the Senior EHS Specialist supports Carestream in their mission to continually improve an EHS program that drives excellent individual compliance and safety performance while also optimizing productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness. The Senior EHS Specialist develops strong stakeholder relationships with each facility and operations EHS team, providing technical support and ensuring the policy and program expectations are clearly understood and implemented, and validating the effectiveness on management system element implementation.

Position Responsibilities:

•    Develop and manage information systems related to recordkeeping for environmental and health & safety management and compliance programs.
•    Ensure ongoing compliance with multimedia environmental permits and regulatory requirements covering environmental and occupational health and safety aspects of Carestream’s business.
•    Implement key performance indicators that allow accurate measurement of performance and improvement and ensure standardization across sites.
•    Manage outside environmental consultants including proposal review, work authorization, invoice approval, and work product quality control.
•    Guide the development and continuous improvement of management tools and measurement systems to facilitate compliance and the ability to satisfy regulatory scrutiny.
•    Compile regulatory and internal reports on annual, semiannual, and quarterly basis as needed.
•    Ensure compliance in areas of environmental, safety, health and security through risk assessments, internal audits and investigations
•    Assist in the reduction and/or elimination of hazards found within the workplace
•    Keep current with all new and pending EHS regulations that might have an impact upon the business
•    Provide guidance to management on safety and environmental issues as they affect current and future state of operations, equipment and procedures including the review of all new projects
•    Monitor and analyze safety trends and implement programs designed to continuously improve company results.
•    Provide leadership, guidance and technical support to operations management and safety committees to embed a behavior-based safety culture.
•    Provide ongoing support for regulatory questions across numerous jurisdictions.
•    Assist with energy and waste reduction and sustainability initiatives.
•    Other tasks related to EHS matters as assigned by leadership.

Required Skills & Education:

•    BS/BA degree within a scientific or technical field 
•    At least 10 years of relevant EHS experience in a manufacturing setting
•    Strong working knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations as well as local regulatory standards
•    Working knowledge of international environmental and safety regulations a plus
•    Working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
•    Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), and/or OSHA 30 General Industry 
•    Experience driving safety culture and leadership 
•    Strong interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
•    Outstanding character and integrity
•    Proficient in MS Office suite

Carestream Colorado and New York City EPT Rules

Carestream, in compliance with Colorado and NYC EPT Rules is offering a very competitive salary of $75,000K-$115,000K. This position is eligible for a quarterly bonus, 401K match, and overtime opportunities. Carestream also offers its employees above industry standard benefits including: accrued Vacation/PTO & Holiday pay, Medical & Prescription Plan, Dental, Vision, FSA/HSA, Basic & Accidental Life Insurance, Optional Dependent Life Insurance, ADD, STD, LTD and even an Employee Assistance Program. This is a good faith estimate for this position only and is pursuant to the Colorado and NYC Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado or NYC applicant might be paid. Similar positions located outside of Colorado or NYC will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay will vary and may be above the listed payrate based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
