Position Summary:

The EMC-Wireless Engineer provides support across the company for EMC & wireless related issues.  The EMC-Wireless Engineer coordinates the company’s EMC and Wireless compliance product programs and works through a global network of regional ECC personnel to help assure compliance at other sites including International approvals for wireless licensing.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Understands and can apply current global EMC-wireless regulations pertaining to medical and information technology equipment. Reviews emerging regulations for potential impacts and proposes compliance plans across the portfolio
  • Provides engineering support to new product commercialization teams to ensure compliance of products before market release.
  • Consults with existing manufacturing teams to ensure compliance of process modifications or new construction.
  • Maintains testing & product configuration data and licenses to demonstrate continued compliance.  
  • Review & approve EMC-wireless information prepared for manufacturing, end-users and service personnel (e.g., final product testing, User Guides, marketing brochures, web site, procedures, etc.).
  • Assist in the compliance planning & use of external testing services. 
  • Review and prepare, as necessary, compliance reports to regulatory agencies
  • Participate, as needed, in the analysis & resolution of potential field related EMC-wireless issues.
  • Represent Carestream interests related to trade association discussions
  • Act as EMC-wireless contact for regional and global regulatory compliance information
  • Authorize FCC/IC grants, Declarations of EMC-wireless compliance and EMC/wireless data packages for NRTL submissions

Required Skills & Education:

  • BS or advanced degree in EMC, electrical engineering
  • Demonstrated experience in managing equipment EMC-wireless compliance.
  • Experience in the design and testing of equipment for electromagnetic compatibility & wireless compliance
  • Knowledge of statistical applications and lean manufacturing
  • Demonstrated experience interacting with regulatory agencies.
  • Effective written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently & proven proficiency in project management & problem-solving.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office tools (Word, Powerpoint, etc.) with demonstrated proficiencies in Excel spreadsheet applications
