Compensation $21.00 to $26.00 per hour based upon experience.
*This range reflects Carestream’s good faith estimate to pay fairly as starting wage. Offers will be tailored within the range based on the selected candidate’s experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process, as well as geographic market differentials for the position.
Position Summary:
Carestream is seeking an individual contributor for its finishing support team.
Location: 1049 Ridge Road, Rochester, NY 14615
Work Hours: 6:00AM to 2:30PM
This role will support the day-to-day functions of the IS&C Finishing area. The Manufacturing Material Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the shopfloor has adequate supplies, receipting in and managing product warehouse and managing chemicals for use by the finishing operators. This role is involved in daily Gemba walks, EHS safety team participation, and cycle counts
Position Responsibilities:
- Communicates with external vendors/suppliers as needed for urgent requests, problem resolution, etc.
- Routinely replenishes supplies in IS&C Finishing area on the production floor as needed
- Orders/receives new supplies using SAP with and without POs
- Monitors chemical usage and evaluates needs for replacements. Ensures the accurate dating, replenishing supplies as needed. Uses Chem Watch to create new labels for dating and product tickets for dispensing cans.
- Using a fork truck, pulls the wide roll caskets and other miscellaneous large supply items from Warehouse for the shop floor and updates SAP. Requires forklift license to support.
- Calculates supply usage to support AOP for Finance team annually
- Provides PO information for Admin to create PO requisition. Verifies invoice accuracy for Admin to process invoice payments.
- Files and organizes the hard copies for 10+ years per audit requirements
- Using SAP, prepares and tracks B Items and A items Kan Ban Cards for daily schedules.
- Supports weekly Cycle Count process by performing and verifying IS&C manufacturing shopfloor and Warehouse cycle counts as directed by the Group Leader.
- Removes hazardous and non-hazardous recycling materials including removing/replacing Gaylord boxes and barrels. Includes silver recovery for processed film.
- Reads, interprets and follows written instructions in Standard Operating Procedures.
- Escalates according to standard and notifies Supervisor of any issues.
- Obeys all safety rules as outlined in the operating procedure, promotes safety improvements.
- Keeps work area clean, orderly, and supplies in the correct 5S locations.
Required Skills & Education:
- Minimum of HS Diploma or GED with strong math skills
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Minimum 2+ years customer service experience or experience working with external vendors/contacts
- Computer experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred
- Be able to understand the impact of schedule sequences on productivity and customer service.
- Good Communication (verbal and written)
- Ability to work 8-hour shift on your feet, with a flexible schedule and willingness to work overtime when needed.
- Able to organize work and effectively manage use of time.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with SAP or other ERP system
- Experience with Power Industrial Trucks to move materials in manufacturing environment. This position requires forklift license or willingness to train to obtain one (Carestream will provide training if needed)
Work Environment:
This position is primarily an office setting with standard temperature and humidity controls, moderate to light noise, fluorescent lighting, primarily sitting with standing desks available, extensive computer and keyboard use, etc.
