Position Summary:

This is a full-time senior level position that will report to the Purchasing Manager of Corporate Indirect SGA. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Information Technology (IT), Information Systems (IS) and/or Telecon as well as Strategic Sourcing.  

As a key member of the Global Sourcing and IT/IS & Telecon Procurement team, you are accountable for co-developing and executing strategies that deliver sustainable results across the various types of IT/IS & Telecom infrastructure categories. 

Additionally, you will need to navigate complexity within a large global matrixed corporation; and through outstanding partnership, drive competitive advantage and value for Carestream. 

Position Responsibilities:

Sourcing:  (50%)

  • Knowledge of Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Management, Procurement Market & Benchmark Analysis, and Commercial Terms & Conditions.
  • Experience in reading, writing & negotiating scope, price & terms for Supply or Service Agreements, Contracts, Confidentiality Agreements, and other contract related documents. Necessity to negotiate and include Carestream protections in third-party documents.
  • Negotiate and manage the purchase-to -pay internal process, payment terms to the corporate standards, ensure suppliers invoice correctly and are paid timely, intervene promptly when necessary to resolve payment delays.
  • Define, establish, and lead the strategic sourcing process consisting of supplier identification & vetting, RFI, RFQ, RFP & supplier selection.
  • Lead (with support from others) supplier dispute resolution, contract & SOW non-compliance, and financial claw-back register activities or projects.


Strategic:  (30%)

  • Work closely with internal Business Clients, IT/IS & Telecon Partners, Finance & Legal to:
    • Establish & maintain the IT/IS & Telecon Strategic Roadmap.
    • Create solid SOWs with clear expectations & deliverables, modify supplier SOWs as necessary.
    • Plan, organize, and analyze sourcing data to build recommendations for the team to make decisions on sourcing strategies with supplier selection implications utilizing Total Cost of Ownership analysis.
    • Ability to succinctly frame issues and alternatives to drive decisions forward.
  • Work with third-party IT/IS & Telecon consulting relationships on strategic procurement projects as required.
  • Perform marketplace benchmark analysis and market testing for IT/IS & Telecon services.  Track the development of new technologies and/or industry trends that will result in the identification of new suppliers, alternative products, and/or best in class services.


Management & Reporting:  (20%)

  • Ensure supplier PO charges are properly accounted for in operating expense budgets or capital project budgets.
  • Educate internal Business Clients and IT/IS & Telecon Partners on supplier contractual obligations and outsourcing processes. Drive and train IT/IS & Telecon Managers on how to monitor and manage contract & SOW compliance.
  • Document and manage supplier spend, supplier cost, delivery, quality, or other applicable metrics using established commodity strategies.  Collect, validate, and report savings productivity & achievements, and identify & report risks or headwinds.
  • Build strong supplier relationships, implement, monitor & report ongoing supplier SLA performance metrics, drive supplier accountability, cost reductions & continuous improvements to include use of Supplier Scorecards.
  • Maintain ownership and accuracy of the IT/IS & Telecon Contract Tracking template to ensure that critical dates, actions, obligations, notifications, etc. are not missed or overlooked.
  • Lead monthly IT/IS & Telecon status meeting with internal Business Clients, IT/IS & Telecon Partners, and Finance.  Lead quarterly IT/IS & Telecon status meeting the respective organization leaders.

Required Skills & Education:

  • USA Citizen or authorized to work in the USA AND Must be willing and able to work onsite Monday to Friday at 150 Verona St. Rochester, NY Carestream Corporate site. Update: 1/6/2023 - Will consider REMOTE and or Hybrid for Sr. experienced candidate.
  • BS in Information Technology, Computer Science or Legal (will consider other technical degrees if strong IT/IS & Telecon experience exists).
  • Minimum of ~10 years procurement, strategic sourcing, commodity management, vendor relationship experience in the IT/IS & Telecon space (will consider lesser procurement experience if strong IT/IS & telecon experience exists).
  • Experience in a variety of IT/IS & Telecon subcategories.
  • Experience with ERP Software like SAP, Systems specification, capability, and normal commercial offer terms for large enterprises (>1000 users).
  • Analyze and solve complex problems important to the success of the company.
  • Proven track record of delivering or exceeding expectations.
  • Extremely strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation & influence), and must have the ability to present specific content comprehensively to respective target audiences & leaders.
  • Proficient desktop computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook).
  • Sense of urgency, disciplined execution, and a "get it done right" mindset.
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities simultaneously while still meeting deadlines.
  • Strategic Analytical Thinking.
  • Sensitivity to different worldwide cultures and global country level practices.

Desired Skills:

  • Master’s degree preferred (IT/IS, Computer Science, Technical or Business).
  • Project Management experience.
  • Six Sigma / LEAN certification (yellow, green, or black belt preferred).
  • Professional Certifications a plus.
  • Second language skills a plus.
