Position Summary:

The WW Service Parts Buyer/Planner’s main responsibility will be to plan worldwide parts requirements in support of Carestream’s customer base.  This individual will work directly with manufacturing, worldwide planners, service engineers, and vendors to procure parts and develop stocking strategies to maximize availability and minimize inventory investment.

Position Responsibilities:


•             Plan worldwide service parts requirements using SAP

•             Employ cost analysis techniques to determine inventory levels to achieve business objectives

•             Procure parts and negotiate schedules and costs with sources of supply

•             Analyze monthly reports to track progress and drive improvement opportunities

•             Interact with parts planning staff, service engineering, customer order services and warehouse personnel to optimize parts plans and processes

•             Evaluate service parts that are set up on exchange for repair opportunities

•             Identify service parts eligible for warranty credit/replacement from vendor

•             Additional projects in support of various improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Education:

•             Minimum BS degree or 4+ years of equivalent Supply Chain experience

•             Excellent analytical skills

•             Strong attention to detail

•             Effective written and oral communication skills

•             Function as a Team Player to build good working relationships and provide back-up as required

•             Emphasize results not effort, goal oriented

•             Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities

Desired Skills:

•             Proven ability to work in a matrixed environment

•             Full knowledge of inventory and cost management principles

•             Ability to manage complex projects (demonstrate innovation, assertiveness, and leadership)

•             Highly Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint

•             Knowledge of SAP / ERP System preferred

Work Environment:

Office/Remote Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 day remote option)
