Compensation $22.00/hr

*This range reflects Carestream’s good faith estimate to pay fairly as starting wage. Offers will be tailored within the range based on the selected candidate’s experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process, as well as geographic market differentials for the position.

Position Summary:

Carestream's Film manufacturing plant in White City, OR is in need of a Chemical Mixing Operator. 

When is this position needed: 11/11/2024

Position Responsibilities:

• Prepare, mix, and report photographic slurries and dispersions.
• Operate and monitor mixing vessels, pumps, valves, filtration devices, and dryers.
• Use HMI for computer-controlled batch recipes for statistical process control.
• Support flexible workforce objectives and certify in multiple operations.
• Apply Lean manufacturing concepts.
• Maintain clean/safe work area.
• Product sampling and testing procedures.
• PIT & PPE certification
• Active Safety committee.
• Quality Management System.
 

Required Skills & Education:

• Ability to work 12-hour shift on shop floor, with demonstrated mechanical aptitude. (Ideally previous experience in manufacturing environment). Work Hours:   12 Hour shifts; 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. 3/2 work schedule rotation.
• Minimum of HS Diploma or GED or 2+ years applicable experience (manufacturing, warehouse).
• Must receive clearance from medical professional to use a purifying air respirator and must pass Carestream practical respirator fit testing for supplied air and purifying air respirators. (30% of time wearing respirator).
• Experience following standard work directions, and change documentation, written in English, to assemble components, or follow a sequence of operations.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. repetitively for short durations.
• Demonstrate interpersonal communication skills to function in team communication and decision processes, including passing training for two-way radio communications.

Desired Skills:

• One-year experience operating a process that uses pumps, valves, filtration, and material conveyance systems.
• Experience with Power Industrial Trucks to move materials in manufacturing environment.
• Six months experience using scales and flow meters to dispense materials; and using laboratory test instruments.
• Six months experience using PLC system to monitor and control liquid transfer processes.
