Compensation $101,203 to $140,000.

*This range reflects Carestream’s good faith estimate to pay fairly as starting wage. Offers will be tailored within the range based on the selected candidate’s experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process, as well as geographic market differentials for the position.

Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Controller/Finance Manager will provide financial support to one of the Company’s manufacturing plants and lead a small team of financial analysts. Key responsibilities include annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting of manufacturing costs, monthly close and reporting of actual cost versus the budget and the most recent forecast and preparation of and explanation for key performance indicators. The Manufacturing Controller is a member of the Operations Finance Leadership Team (OFLT) and the Plant Leadership Team (PLT). The ideal candidate is committed to understanding the manufacturing process and the financial process since one drives the other.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the plant’s annual budget with thorough analysis of year over year performanceand drivers of increases/decreases in cost
  • Analyze monthly manufacturing cost versus the budget and/or forecast including labor and overhead spend, volume, raw materials price and waste. Record adjusting entries to ensure accurate results. Present results to leadership teams
  • Develop business cases to drive operational efficiency and cost reductions
  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s internal controls
  • Provide leadership and development opportunities to cost accountants. Review all work for accuracy and completeness
  • Active member of the Manufacturing Finance Leadership Team and the Plant Leadership Team; drives process improvements and participates in business decision making for the plant
  • Other duties, as required.

Required Skills & Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of related work experience in Accounting, preferably Cost Accounting
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical skills; desire to be coached to achieve higher level of achievement
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams through financial analysis
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively interpret and report on financial performance with all levels of management
  • 40-50 hours most weeks; flexible start time and end time between 6am-6pm locally; need to be available

Desired Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of major financial processes within manufacturing including standard setting, productivity and other cost analysis
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Broad knowledge of US GAAP

Work Environment:

Office environment in a manufacturing plant. Travel minimal, less than 5%
