This NIGHT SHIFT QC Lab Inspector role comes with accruing benefits from your first day of employment. Pay rate is $20/hr. If you have the required skills and experience, please apply today.

Position Responsibilities:

Works directly with the testing, evaluation, documentation, and release of product.

  • Working closely with Product and Process staff, both engineers and technicians, to follow up on production critical issues.
  • Conduct standard and nonstandard testing as requested.
  • Commitment to working safely.
  • Involved in preparing finished goods and in process quality reports.
  • Escalate out of specification or reject data immediately to appropriate department or individual.
  • Setup, calibrate, troubleshoot, and baseline test equipment prior to use.
  • Individuals in this role are empowered to escalate and/or take action as appropriate during nonstandard situations to contain potentially discrepant product and to minimize safety risks.
  • Individuals also have the authority to discard "routine waste" per appropriate procedures.
  • Individuals have the authority and are trained to place and release product on hold.
  • Ensure safety and product quality, the employee is responsible for completing training, following defined standard work, and initiating Stop-Call-Wait process when standard work cannot be followed or when operators have a question.
  • Employee is responsible for completing all documented environmentally related requirements, and to understand the aspects and potential environmental impacts generated in their work area.
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime and adjust work schedules to accommodate priorities, shutdown, and other business needs.
  • Train team members per “QC Lab Training Program” and “White City Training Program” using TWI method for certification or other training as appropriate. Work with supervisor and trainee to monitor training pace

Required Skills & Education:

  • Work Hours:   7am-7pm Rotating nights
  • Attention to detail, planning, and organizing. Accurate and timely testing is essential to the coating process.
  • Visual attention to detail to identify defects. Good eyesight or appropriate use of visual tools to identify defects. Effective communication skills to supported departments.
  • Ability to read and follow written instruction for both standard and change documentation.
  • Ability to work in low light (darkroom) conditions.
  • Basic math and chemistry knowledge.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in coating, QC Lab or other lab environments
  • Chemistry or Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics (STEM) degree
  • Previous experience with Coating and/or converting processes
  • Displays a balanced sense of urgency to keep materials flowing and prevent non-conforming product from reaching downstream customers.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and process software (QC SOS, JMP, Minitab.).
  • Able to communicate well with internal downstream clients, customers, and external suppliers.
  • Able to work with/in various departments and Carestream sites in a team environment.
  •  Writing skills sufficient for creating and maintaining standard work and special instructions documents. Good trouble-shooting skills and mechanical aptitude. Demonstration of resolving minor issues through established protocols without additional assistance
