Compensation

$85,000 -$115,000 *This range reflects Carestream’s good faith estimate to pay fairly as starting wage. Offers will be tailored within the range based on the selected candidate’s experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process, as well as geographic market differentials for the position.

Position Summary:

The goals of the quality engineering position are to provide leadership and support in the following areas:

  • Contract Manufacturing – work with customers, product engineers and analytical team to develop Quality plans to support new Contract Manufacturing products, then support and maintain the systems developed.  Suggest and lead improvement programs.  Interface with customers to provide required quality related information as required (including customer satisfaction surveys) and lead resolution of problems/complaints shared by the customer.  Train, monitor disposition and methods, and provide day to day support for Contract Manufacturing products in the QC lab.  Develop and maintain required quality related product documentation.
  • Print Film Product -  Monitor product quality parameters and test equipment performance, lead corrective action when required, lead continuous improvement projects relative to product coating quality and test equipment performance.  Support with help from product engineer’s technical customer complaint investigations.  Train QC technicians in how the product works, improved test methods, control charting, and product disposition.  Develop and maintain required quality related product documentation.
  • Quality Management System – Participate as an internal auditor, including leading the internal QMS and Lab area audits.  Support quality manager co-hosting BSI/external audits.  Lead process improvement projects, root cause investigations and corrective actions.  Provide corrective action oversight.  Ideal candidate will have the leadership capability, QMS knowledge and product/process knowledge to at some point fill the site quality manager role. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead with Product teams to implement best practices related to statistical process control, design of experiments and data analysis.  Monitor and steer laboratory equipment performance via control charts, etc.
  • Interface daily with Operations quality control supervisor and lab techs, monitor lab grading / disposition and product and test equipment control charts.  Initiate and execute corrective action or continuous improvement activities.  Lead / engage in RC analysis troubleshooting.  Own quality based projects within the print film and Contract Manufacturing White City Technical Organization
  • Work with Product Engineers / Analytical team to test/implement specific test methods required for new products.  Design and complete protocols for measurement system analysis, etc.  Develop and implement quality assessment plans (partnering with the assigned product engineer) for all relevant products that move into Pilot and Manufacturing stages.  Design quality packages/plans for products moving into and through commercialization stages.
  • Act as point of contact for customer quality needs and Medical product test system technical concerns.  
  • Develop and maintain quality management systems.

Required Skills & Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline preferred or equivalent experience 
  • 5+  years' experience preferred in Quality engineering or Product engineering and quality systems

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

  • Black Belt and/or ASQ certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of statistics to improve processes 
  • Manufacturing engineering with coated films experience
  • Product and/or process development
  • Analytical sciences
  • Application and leadership of Quality Management system tools

Work Environment:

This position is primarily an office setting with standard temperature and humidity controls, moderate to light noise, fluorescent lighting, primarily sitting with standing desks available, extensive computer and keyboard use, etc.   

May support employees working in dark room and chemical mixing room operations.
