Compensation $95,000 to $125,000 range.

*This range reflects Carestream’s good faith estimate to pay fairly as starting wage. Offers will be tailored within the range based on the selected candidate’s experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process, as well as geographic market differentials for the position.

Position Summary:

 

Carestream Health is seeking a Sr. Category Manager (Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager; Sr. Commodity Manager) ideally at its Oregon facility, but will consider the Colorado or Rochester, NY locations.

 

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Specialized Skills in Logistics & Warehousing: 
           - Will partner with the Supply Chain & Logistics (SC&L) Transportation and Planning staff in the US & Canada and EU to develop a scope of work, selection criteria, and management of Third Party Logistics (3PL) suppliers. The suppliers will be required to report performance against key performance indicators (KPI)s on a regular basis. The Sr. Commodity Manager will be responsible for co-developing and managing Performance Guarantees with incentives & penalties to ensure the supplier is delivering results per the contract.

           - Will partner with the Transportation Managers in the US & Canada and EU to identify suppliers, negotiate & award contracts, and manage the performance of Motor Carriers (land), Air Freight, Parcel, Ocean Carriers, and High Value - White Glove Delivery Services. These responsibilities include regular competitive sourcing events including E-auctions and negotiations to select the best carriers with the lowest Total Cost of Ownership representing Quality, Service and Price.

Strategic Sourcing:
           - Utilization of functional knowledge of Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Management, Supply Chain Management, Procurement Market Analysis, Commercial Terms & Conditions, and OEM Manufacturing.

           - Aligned with internal clients, generate & evaluate Request For Information (RFI), Request For Quotation (RFQ), Request For Proposal (RFP), Statement Of Work (SOW), and other.

           - Negotiate pricing & terms, negotiate & write confidentiality agreements, supply agreements, consignment agreements, termination letters, and other contract documents for various commodity categories.

           - Translate client requirements into actionable sourcing plans. Ability to integrate purchasing strategies with internal client objectives.

           - Define, establish, and lead the strategic sourcing process (including all phases of marketplace or benchmark analysis, understanding index & feedstock pricing, E-auction, bundling, supplier identification, qualification & selection, and product accreditation & approval for use if necessary).

Position Responsibilities:

Client & Vendor Relationships:
           - Work effectively with both internal clients and external supplier personnel, at all levels, including senior management.

           - Translate client requirements into actionable sourcing plans. Ability to integrate purchasing strategies with internal client objectives.
           - Build strong supplier relationships, manage supplier assessment, implement & monitor ongoing supplier key performance indicators (KPIs) & supplier scorecards. Drive ongoing cost reductions & continuous improvements.

           - Document and manage supplier spend, supplier cost, delivery & quality targets using established commodity strategies. Collect and report savings productivity, achievements & supply issues timely.

           - For hardware & logistics related commodities, establish Business Resumption Plans (BRP) with key suppliers.

Analytical and Leadership duties.

Required Skills & Education:

•    Legal authorization to work in the United States is required. 

•    B.S. in Engineering, Supply Chain Mgmt., Business or Finance.
•    Minimum 7 years procurement, sourcing, or commodity management experience, 2 years in a senior role.

•    Travel as required. Willingness and the experience to travel, both domestically and internationally.
•    Work in a self-managed team environment with minimal direct supervision, Self-Motivator.
•    Proven track record of delivering or exceeding expectations.
•    Demonstrated effective personal computer skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-Mail, and Internet. Experience utilizing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. SAP/Ariba preferred.
•    Innovative and results oriented with a high degree of professional and ethical behavior. Ability to effectively influence others and manage sensitive situations.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills, executive presence, and the proven ability to influence and communicate effectively. 
•    Sensitivity to different cultures and global country practices.
•    Excellent business & financial acumen, ability to function as business partner through teaming, with the ability to motivate, influence and drive change in a collaborative and effective way

Desired Skills:

 

•    Minimum 3 years prior supervisory experience desired.

•    MBA or other Masters.
•    Experience in a medical device manufacturing environment (or similar highly regulated industry). Familiarity with Federal Drug Administration (FDA) Supplier Controls a plus. 
•    Familiarity with ISO 9001 & 13485 a plus.
•    Six-sigma (green, brown, or black belt), or equivalent a plus.
•    Professional purchasing or supply chain certifications a plus.
•    Project Management skills a plus.

•    Bilingual fluent in English and Spanish languages desired.
