Position Summary:

The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician is an hourly position and reports to the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor.

The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the reliability, repair, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation devices in the plant, including PLCs, motors, and control systems. The ideal candidate acts as a process expert in dealing with electrical and instrumentation responsibilities throughout the manufacturing facility. This includes reacting to process and equipment issues, preventive, and predictive maintenance, as well as elimination of special cause variation while driving safety & quality and optimizing plant efficiency.

Position Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and install electrical circuits based on electrical schematics.

Install, program, and troubleshoot various PLC platforms and variable frequency drives.

Improves efficiency, troubleshoots, and resolves problems using trend data, digital multi-meters, and oscilloscopes.

Resolve process problems by identifying root cause and implementing process controls and/or procedure changes.

Creating, maintaining, and documenting Preventative Maintenance procedures and processes and communicating these to the appropriate personnel plant wide.

Position Responsibilities:

Compensation: Depending on experience hourly wage plus overtime could total up to $70,000 annually, plus $500 sign on $500 retention bonus after 6 months of employment, plus quarterly bonuses. 

Benefits start day one. 

Work schedule: 40-60 hrs. / week. 12 hour shifts. (7 am to 7 pm) or (7 pm to 7 am) including holiday if scheduled. 

Required Skills & Education:

- Strong Electrician and Mechanical troubleshooting skills.  An understanding of industrial control circuits.

- Manufacturing experience preferred. 

- Ability to work independently; highly self motivated, self directed and be results oriented.

- Must have a desire to contribute and work in a team environment (lead and interact with operations, maintenance, technical/engineering and management)

Desired Skills:

AAS in Electrical Engineering Technology  or equivalent degree preferred.

Journeyman or LME electrical license issued by the State of Oregon preferred.

Experience  in setting up and programming various HMI packages including Panelview, Panelmate, Proface, and others.

Familiarity with bar code readers, scanners, and vision systems.
