Position Summary:

•              Perform tax and accounting activities to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with Mexican tax regulations, corporate accounting policies, and statutory requirements.

•              Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities by preparing tax provisions, tax reconciliations, journal entries, and tax filings. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory obligations while maintaining accurate General Ledger balances and supporting audit requirements.

•              Act as a key liaison between Finance, Corporate Tax, external advisors, auditors, and government authorities to ensure accurate and timely execution of all tax-related activities.

Position Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file monthly tax returns, including VAT, Income Tax, Withholding Taxes, Payroll Taxes, and other statutory tax obligations.

• Prepare and submit DIOT, Electronic Accounting, Payment Complements, and other tax compliance requirements.

• Maintain compliance with Mexican tax regulations and monitor communications from tax authorities.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual tax provisions, tax forecasts, and corporate tax reporting packages.

• Perform tax account reconciliations, including tax payable, tax receivable, customs-related accounts, and tax clearing accounts.

• Prepare and post-tax-related journal entries and ensure accurate recording of tax transactions in SAP.

• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.

• Coordinate tax refund requests, tax audits, and responses to governmental inquiries.

• Prepare annual tax workpapers and supporting schedules, including tax depreciation, inflation adjustments, transfer pricing support, and tax return reconciliations.

• Support statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, including filings with SAT, INEGI, Banco de México, and Secretaría de Economía.

• Support electronic invoicing processes, manual invoicing activities, and compliance with CFDI requirements.

• Liaise with external tax advisors, auditors, customs brokers, and government authorities.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and corporate accounting policies.

• Document processes, update work instructions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

• Prepare ad hoc financial and tax analyses required by management and Corporate Finance.

• Support special projects, system implementations, and process automation initiatives.

Desired Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. CPA preferred.

English Intermediate to Advanced (written and verbal).

Minimum 4-5 years of experience in Mexican Tax Compliance, Tax Reporting and General Ledger Accounting.  Experience with tax authorities, tax audits and multinational environments preferred.

Mexican Tax Regulations (ISR, VAT, Withholdings), SAP FI, General Ledger Accounting, Tax Provisions, Electronic Accounting, DIOT, CFDI and Payment Complements, Microsoft Excel Advanced.
